What is beta alanine?

Beta alanine is a non-essential amino acid and is the only naturally-occurring beta amino acid.

Beta alanine is different from most amino acids, as it is not used to synthesise proteins. Instead, it produces carnosine, which is stored in your skeletal muscles and reduces the build-up of lactic acid in your muscles during training.

Description

Beta Alanine Plus  combines beta-alanine, histidine HCl, and sodium bicarbonate to optimize athletic performance, particularly for athletes engaged in high-intensity, short-duration efforts, as well as those involved in endurance events. This blend of substances works synergistically to help improve the body’s ability to buffer acid buildup during intense physical activity.

Beta  -alanine  is a nonessential amino acid that plays a key role in the synthesis of carnosine, a compound essential for regulating muscle pH during exercise. Carnosine, located in muscles, acts as a buffer, counteracting the acidity that builds up during intense and prolonged exercise. Histidine HCl  is also an essential component for the formation of carnosine, contributing to its effectiveness as a buffer. Sodium bicarbonate , on the other hand, increases the availability of bicarbonate ions in the body, further supporting the buffering system and helping neutralize muscle acidity.

Beta-alanine supplementation has been shown to be particularly beneficial for athletes engaged in high-intensity, short-duration anaerobic activity, as well as for endurance athletes. This is because it helps improve the ability to tolerate muscle acidosis, allowing for more consistent performance and delaying the onset of fatigue.
